I would like to give Dave Monforton a 10 out of 10, with two thumbs up review for his work as our Realtor selling our mother's last home. This is the second time we have used Dave as our listing agent as we settled our parents’ estate. Both times Dave helped us navigate major renovations while keeping us to a schedule to help us get the best dollar we could for the homes, the first one during the spring real estate season in 2017, and the second last fall.

This time we had to work through a previously unknown Orangeburg sewer pipe issue before we could sell, which he managed on a very short deadline! :). The home was an interesting mid-century “Lustron” home, which is completely made of steel. With his expertise on staging, we were beautifully show ready, then the home sold quickly to someone who had a specific interest in a Lustron he could fully restore.

He strives to keep his clients in the loop at all times, providing up-to-the-minute updates on all aspects regarding the sale of their current home as well as the purchase of their new home. His background as an attorney is also invaluable in helping clients sift through the often complex and confusing details regarding the sale and purchase of a dwelling place.

Dave was our agent for both the sale of our house in Howell and the purchase of our new home in Ypsilanti. His attention to detail and his expertise on all aspects of these transactions were impressive and very much appreciated. He provided us a detailed list of matters to address in preparing our house for sale. He researched the comparable homes in the vicinity and recommended a sale price that was to our satisfaction, resulting in an offer with closing within five weeks of the initial listing. And he helped negotiate an eleventh-hour issue that came up on the buyers’ side that could have forestalled the closing.

On the purchase side, he worked with us to determine an appropriate offer for our new smaller home. He found us an excellent inspector and helped negotiate a price adjustment to address a couple of minor issues. He worked with us to find the best possible mortgage rates and assisted us with all the submissions involved in the approval process.

Our home in Howell is sold and we are comfortably settling into our new place in Ypsilanti. We couldn’t be happier with the support we received from Dave throughout the process. Finally, it should not go unsaid that he makes a pretty fabulous homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie!
