I would like to give Dave Monforton a 10 out of 10, with two thumbs up review for his work as our Realtor selling our mother's last home. This is the second time we have used Dave as our listing agent as we settled our parents’ estate. Both times Dave helped us navigate major renovations while keeping us to a schedule to help us get the best dollar we could for the homes, the first one during the spring real estate season in 2017, and the second last fall.
This time we had to work through a previously unknown Orangeburg sewer pipe issue before we could sell, which he managed on a very short deadline! :). The home was an interesting mid-century “Lustron” home, which is completely made of steel. With his expertise on staging, we were beautifully show ready, then the home sold quickly to someone who had a specific interest in a Lustron he could fully restore.
Thank you again, Dave, for making the hard process of settling an estate home, both successful and profitable.
Your agent, Dave Monforton, offers his clients many advantages as their Realtor. They were especially apparent in our case as he acted as both our buying and selling agent. He strives to keep his clients in the loop at all times, providing up-to-the-minute updates on all aspects regarding the sale of their current home as well as the purchase of their new home. His background as an attorney is also invaluable in helping clients sift through the often complex and confusing details regarding the sale and purchase of a dwelling place.
What really sets him apart, however, is the energy and enthusiasm he brings to the job. For us personally, that meant buying and selling homes in areas outside of his normal base of operations. Dave worked overtime to familiarize himself with each area, research housing comps and secured a sale and purchase price that met our needs.
Even though we were not his only client, we felt as though we were. We were extremely pleased with the services of Dave Monforton and believe other clients will be too.

Dave was our agent for both the sale of our house in Howell and the purchase of our new home in Ypsilanti. His attention to detail and his expertise on all aspects of these transactions were impressive and very much appreciated. He provided us a detailed list of matters to address in preparing our house for sale. He researched the comparable homes in the vicinity and recommended a sale price that was to our satisfaction, resulting in an offer with closing within five weeks of the initial listing. And he helped negotiate an eleventh-hour issue that came up on the buyers’ side that could have forestalled the closing.
On the purchase side, he worked with us to determine an appropriate offer for our new smaller home. He found us an excellent inspector and helped negotiate a price adjustment to address a couple of minor issues. He worked with us to find the best possible mortgage rates and assisted us with all the submissions involved in the approval process.
Our home in Howell is sold and we are comfortably settling into our new place in Ypsilanti. We couldn’t be happier with the support we received from Dave throughout the process. Finally, it should not go unsaid that he makes a pretty fabulous homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie!

I want you to know how much Dave Monforton helped me in selling my home. From our first meeting, he provided me with contacts and advice on setting priorities for what needed to be done plus how and when to make things happen in order to be ready for the date we set for listing.

First, we were far away so we had to do a lot through phone calls and email, but Dave was always on hand and really indispensable. He organized everything and showed up when we could not. He was our eyes and ears for this purchase.
Second, the home was in a flood zone, leading to prohibitive insurance requirements, but Dave recognized the possibility of an exemption from the flood zone and led us to a successful completion of that process. He organized inspections of the property and dealt with the seller, the city and the lender on all sorts of matters regarding the occupancy of the home. In the end, he helped get us an incredible deal on our new home. It is truly a pleasure to work with Dave - utterly trustworthy, capable and smart.

My husband and I wanted to provide you with some feedback regarding our recent experience with realtor Dave Monforton. Dave assisted us with both selling our home and buying another, and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout. Dave has great energy and he brings a positive industry knowledge to the table with every conversation.
Educating us on the finer details of prepping our house to sell, encouraging us to continue to think outside the box in looking at homes to purchase, and listening/learning about what we want/need in a home gave the lengthy process a smooth finish. His attention to details and understanding of the legal system was very helpful when reviewing the wording contained in the contracts. He made sure to review the documents with a fine eye before sending them to us for review and signature, all the while explaining what the documents bound us to.
